Coaching Bio—Jay Welsh
Jay Welsh enters in his 32nd season of coaching baseball, his first at West Orange. Jay has been the owner operator of Welsh Baseball Instruction in Windermere, providing professional instruction to players of all levels since 2003. After playing collegiately at Division 1 Lafayette College, he began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at the University of Massachusetts. Jay then went on to play and coach in independent baseball for six seasons in the Pen-Del League. He has coached at the 7A high school level with stints at Lake Nona, Ocoee, and most recently Celebration High School where he resurrected a program that was 9-41 in the two seasons prior to his arrival leading them to the program’s first ever district title and state regional appearance. In 2018, Jay returned to the collegiate ranks as pitching coach for Lake Sumter State Junior College where he guided their staff to the school’s first playoff berth since 2011. For the past four seasons he has been a head coach in the Florida Collegiate Summer League where he first coached the Winter Garden Tangelos of the Futures Division to the most successful run in the history of the league going 20-7, winning the league championship. Then as head coach of the Winter Garden Squeeze he lead them to two playoff appearances in his three seasons. The Welsh family has a long-time association with West Orange, Jay’s son Ryan graduated in 2015 and played for the program. His daughter Megan played volleyball at West Orange and graduated in 2016.Type your paragraph here.

Coaching Bio - Ryan Welsh
Ryan Welsh joins the west orange staff for his first year of coaching. Ryan is a 2015 graduate of West Orange where he pitched and played outfield. Ryan played collegiately at Florida Southern and will primarily work with the pitching staff.

Coaching Bio - Coach Ralph Nenna
Coach Nenna is entering his twenty seventh year of coaching youth baseball in Central Florida. He has coached nationally ranked teams such as the Florida Fire and his teams have competed in the best youth baseball tournaments in the country. Many of his players have gone on to play D1 baseball in college. Athletes he has coached for several years currently play at the University of Florida, Florida State, Ole Miss, LSU, UCF and UNC. He has also contributed to the development of players who have been drafted in the MLB, including the third overall pick in the first round of the 2015 MLB draft. Coach Nenna has a passion for baseball and helping kids reach their full potential. He excels at developing the whole athlete, skills and the mental, physical and emotional aspects of the game to help athletes succeed both as individuals and as a team.
